Moms with Grace
Moms with Grace mission is: To welcome all women,no matter where they are in theri walk with Christ, on a personal level, continuing to grow them as mothers, wives, and women of Christ.
Moms with Grace meets on the second Wednesday morning of every month at Grace Church. This group is open to ANY mother who is expecting a child or has children up to middle school age. Moms from the community are invited to attend!
Each meeting has delicious foods to share, an activity, childcare, and a sharing time for moms. Women are invited to attend 2 meetings without charge and then will be asked to pay either $3 per meeting or just $15 for the year.
Moms with Grace
The first meeting of the fall for Moms with Grace took place on September 11, 2013. There were twenty-two moms present as well as numerous children. A skit by mentors Caren Cornman and Sally Shane served as the introduction to our theme. The theme is entitled, “Plugged-In and Recharging; Pursuing a Godly Family Life in a Culture of Distraction. Both Caren and I had a fun time presenting the skit, but followed the presentation with short talks of a more serious nature. Both of us have serious concerns about balancing our lives which are so busy and so very influenced by technology, with the things in our lives that are important. While technology can be a wonderful tool to make our lives easier, all of us must be very careful to devote time to those things which God considers to be most important. Our bible verse for the year is from Matthew 6: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all of these things will be added unto you.”
Our goal is to present speakers and activities that will help our moms to realize that the order for our attention should be: God, our husbands, our children, and then others. If we are following this order, the Lord will honor our efforts. It is the hope of those of us on steering that we can educate our moms while providing a fun, loving atmosphere in which this can take place. Our group is open to expectant mothers up to and including the mothers of middle schoolers.
In October, we are excited to be having Pastor John Friedlund speak to us about finding time to read God’s word and develop our relationships with Him. While this is very difficult at times for young mothers to do with small children, it can be done. We look forward to having Pastor John join us.
There is a definite need for more childcare helpers. We would so very much appreciate anyone who would be willing to help out from time to time. Please contact SuEllen Ketterer if you would be willing to do this.
With thanks to all who help,
