Moms with Grace
Moms with Grace mission is: To welcome all women,no matter where they are in theri walk with Christ, on a personal level, continuing to grow them as mothers, wives, and women of Christ.
Moms with Grace meets on the second Wednesday morning of every month at Grace Church. This group is open to ANY mother who is expecting a child or has children up to middle school age. Moms from the community are invited to attend!
Each meeting has delicious foods to share, an activity, childcare, and a sharing time for moms. Women are invited to attend 2 meetings without charge and then will be asked to pay either $3 per meeting or just $15 for the year.
Moms with Grace
WEDNESDAY, May 8th at 9:00 am
April is the month in which we like to invite two of our moms to give their personal testimonies. This is done so that if there are non-believers in the group, they can have an opportunity to hear a testimony from women who they know and with whom they can very likely identify. One of the mothers who shared her testimony at our last meeting was our own Lori Eggleston! It was wonderful to hear Lori’s testimony, and was very rewarding for me to hear how she has grown, in part as a result of her membership at Grace, as well as in being a member of long standing in MOPS/Moms with Grace.
Our other presenter was Sarah Nygard, another mom who has been in MOPS/Moms with Grace for many years. The stories shared by both women warmed my heart. We had a full house with twenty eight moms attending!
After both testimonies were given, I explained briefly how we became sinners, gave the salvation plan, and led the group in prayer. All in all, it was a special time and an important facet of our Moms with Grace program.
We are more than one third of the way through our Bible study, which is a DVD study by Chip Ingram, called “Effective Parenting in a Defective World.” What a wonderful study it is! It would be so helpful if every parent had an opportunity to view and discuss this series! We have had an average of seven moms attending.
Next month will be our last meeting of the school year. It is a time to honor our helpers and provide something special for our moms and children as well. We are pleased to be having Marion Gehman and family, who were featured at our Grace Christmas Banquet this past year. Marion is a former MOPS mom, and a dedicated servant of the Lord. She and her children perform with marionettes, and do a wonderful job with song, skits and comedy, all the while presenting biblical truth. We look forward to their presentation!
Plans for the upcoming 2013-2014 year are already swirling in our heads. We look forward to creating a worthwhile theme which will be both uplifting for our moms and honoring of our God and King.
A special thank you to Grace Church, all our childcare helpers, and our steering team for making Moms with Grace happen! I feel it continues to truly be a blessing and a way to help mothers!
