The theological theme of hope in both the Old and New Testaments by considering the visions of Daniel and exploring the connection between the hope found in his prophesy and the Christian’s resurrection hope. We will go through the resurrection hope with the Last Supper and on to Jesus’ appearances to His disciples then continue to Penecost. A call to Holy Living will focus on the hope that Jesus inspires for those who are suffering and our new birth into a living hope!

“Miracles – Signs of God’s Glory”
Most of us could use a miracle. Some physical condition, relationship problem or financial crisis could be fixed rather quickly with just one miracle. When we open the pages of the Bible, our desire for a miracle intensifies as we read astonishing stories of God’s power poured out. What do these events have to do with us? How can we experience the power of God in the struggles we face every day?
“God’s At War” by Kyle Idelman
Upstairs in the Library
Teacher: Alan Reighn
In Gods at War, bestselling author Kyle Idleman helps every believer recognize there are false gods at war within each of us, and they battle for the place of glory and control in our lives. We’re all wired for worship, but we often end up valuing and honoring the false gods of comfort, money, sex, pleasure, legalism, family, the perfect body, and success, and that keeps us from the true, intimate relationship with God that we desire.
According to Idleman, idolatry isn’t an issue---it is the issue.
By asking insightful questions, Idleman reveals which gods each of us are allowing on the throne. What do you sacrifice for? What makes you mad? What do you worry about? Whose applause do you long for? Then, using true, powerful and honest testimonies of those who have struggled in each area, Gods at War illustrates a clear path away from the heartache of our 21st century idolatry back to the heart of God.
“Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit” by Francis Chan
Ladies Class Downstairs Classroom
Teacher: Audrey Merkel
Through solid scriptural support and compelling narrative, break through author Francis Chan returns us to the Holy Spirit as the Bible describes Him. He reminds us that we were not created and saved merely to survive our time on earth. Chan contends that we’ve ignored the Spirit and are reaping the disastrous results. It’s time for the beloved church of Jesus Christ to reverse the trend of neglect. Let’s pursue the Spirit-filled life of effectiveness God desires and we desire.
