Locally, here at Grace we continue to financially support Jeremy Kunkel who is one of our own members. He serves with Engineering Ministries International as a drafter/CAD co-ordinator based in Colorado.
We support BJ and Rachael Whitaker in Spain and Janice and Lamar Stolzfus at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya. .All these families are part of the Global Ministries of the E.C. church.
The Sunday school classes (along with help from the general church budget) continue to support three additional families who are also missionaries with the E.C. church. They are Robert and Bettina Schaeffer (NYC with LIFE- Living in Freedom Eternally), Dave and Conce Roof (Brazil), and Dan and MaryLynne Wills (Wycliffe in North Carolina).
The objectives of the Adult Missionary Fellowship at Grace E.C. church continue to be:
a. To stimulate total church involvement in missions
b. To encourage missionary service through-out the world
c. To foster prayer participation for out-reach by the entire congregation
d. To conduct programs of missionary education
e. To effect sacrificial giving to outreach as directed by and through the Global Missions
Nineteen people from a few months old to many years of experience travelled to Mexico in August to help at Mision Mazahua. We were blessed to meet Reba Hoffman’s parents, grandmother, aunt & uncle and to see the lives that they touch in Jesus’ name! One of the goals is to help the Mexican people to begin enterprises to help them live and stay in Mexico. We got to see the greenhouses and pick some tomatoes. They have orchards and flowers everywhere. We also saw La Rosa (another part of the mission) where they are beginning to develop a school and raise pigs and rabbits and farm crops to sell to help raise money to support the school. They have an enterprise that package and sell nuts. They teach pottery and stained glass windows. A dozen women have an enterprise that sews and silk screens various items to sell. They have a wood shop where they construct furniture … chairs for the mission that we helped to sand and stain. They also have a ministry that reaches out to Special Friends with special needs that they do equine therapy and aquatic therapy and wheelchair basketball. Several of the team got to experience how hard it is to play basketball in a wheelchair! We were able to help in the kitchen as they had conferences there from World Vision and over one hundred hungry folks to feed and then do all the dishes with limited hot water and no dishwashers!! The mission is beautiful with many projects and opportunities to reach out to the Mexican people. We were able to finish the cistern that we had on our to do list! We experienced some cultural differences and adventures with Reba’s Dad, Norberto. We were able to worship in a Mexican church and do devotions with the mission staff every morning. We were able to walk around the market place and found a Knoebels sweatshirt hanging up in Mexico! What a door God has opened and blessing it was to be a small part of seeing what God is doing! Please continue to pray for this mission and it’s work for HIM!
